 THE HAPPY DOG PROJECT

tHE HAPPY DOG PROJECT IS A NON-PROFIT BASED IN LOS ANGELES WITH A MISSION TO REINVENT THE DOG AND PET RESCUE PROCESS. Their core mission is to rescue dogs from kill shelters and train and socialize the animals to increase their chances of a successful family placement. THE HAPPY DOG PROJECT FACILITY WILL BE LOCATED IN SANTA MONICA AND WILL INCLUDE A CAFE, AN ARTIST’S STUDIO AND DOG LOUNGES WHERE PEOPLE AND PETS CAN RELAX AND ENJOY THE RECREATIONAL SPACES WHILE ALSO OFFERING PET RESCUE SERVICES.

PROJECT LEGACY

project legacy is a transitional housing project located in downtown riverside developed through a partnership between the housing authority of the county of riverside and truevolution. truevolution is a nonprofit dedicated to fight for health equity and racial justice to advance the quality of life and human dignity of lgbtq+ people. project legacy is a 49-bed campus that will provide healthcare, job training, and housing for lgbtq+ youth, seniors and people living with hiv. The campus takes over a block-wide site where 1920’s bungalows were transformed into transitional housing.

HARVEST HOME

harvest home transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and programs that equip women to become great mothers. brought to life by a collaboration between harvest home and pro-bono design work from architecture and design firm rios, is the opening of a 2nd harvest home facility in the pico-robertson neighborhood. The los angeles county department of public health estimates about 5,000 women are homeless at some point throughout their pregnancies in the county, and there are currently only 70 reported shelter beds for this specific need in los angeles. This new harvest home facility has allowed them to triple the number of mothers and childern they can assist; offering 18 beds along with coundeling and educational programs to help empower them to become great mothers.

 NKLA

NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles) is an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society, bringing together passionate individuals, city shelters and an entire coalition of animal welfare organizations to end the killing of homeless pets in L.A. city shelters. Best Friends is a non-profit organization that operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for homeless animals. They provide adoption, spay/neuter services, and educational programs. The NKLA state-of-the-art pet Adoption center is located in west los angeles just off the 405 freeway and santa monica blvd.

9 dots is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 with a mission to ensure that all k-6 students have the opportunity to engage in a transformative computer science education. 9 dots started out as a small classroom after-school program developed by a passionate gorup of engineers and educators and quickly evolved into something much larger. located in hollywood, ca, this 11,000 sq.ft. industrial facility was transformed by architect and interior designer, Design, Bitches, into a bright and inviting space to house after-school programs, summer school, teacher trainings, and community workshops.
